OMG. So, for the weekend of my birthday I did the hugest haul. We went over to Cheshire Oaks, and of course this was the perfect time to go as the January sales are coming to an end, meaning prices are at an all time low, and as nobody has any money after Christmas, they wont be heading to the shops mid Jan!

For those of you that don't know, Cheshire Oaks is a designer outlet in the UK that features some of my all time favourite brands, including All Saints, Diesel and The Kooples.

To start of with, I went into a shop that I have never bought clothing from before and that was M&S. My mom dragged me in there, completely against my will, but my days, I went wild. Everything in there was being sold for virtually £5, I could not miss out on this opportunity, especially to stock up for work clothes. I ended purchasing a lot of items that are considered as basics, as they're plain, versatile and timeless.

M&S

I found this beautiful, bronze, overlay dress at an absolute steal of £5. I didn't buy it for any occasion in particular, but you never know when you might get a last minute invite to dinner or a party. So, it's one of those dresses to keep in my wardrobe for when a time like that arises. It's super classy, and I do think I will be able to wear over the next few years without it becoming dated, providing I don't pile on any pounds.

I was on the look out for smart trousers, for work and for best. As I get older, my style is growing with me. Don't get me wrong, I love my trainers and hoodies, but I also love a smart look with pointed stilettos and classic white shirts, so I am working on finding the perfect balance between those. I managed to find three pairs whilst on my hunt, an amazing wide leg beige pair, a blue pinstriped pair and black cropped drawstring trousers.

What I really wanted to pick up was a few blouses, but I only managed to find one. But a great one it was. This yellow and black printed blouse fits like a dream, it jazzes up any outfit, it isn't at all see through, which is my biggest beef with sheer clothing and it is great smart casual or work look.

I then got myself a set of jammies, my favourite thing to buy actually. It wasn't a matching set, but this sweatshirt and shorts went well enough so I picked those up. But, my bargain of the day that I was most excited about was this satin robe. I feel like I belong in the VS Fashion Show when I wear it, it was £5!! For just £5, I was made to feel like a super star lol.

The Cosmetics Store

How could I go on a huge shopping haul and not pick up any make up? Well, obviously I cannot. Normally when I go into this shop I don't end up buying anything. It's overcrowded, and small and normally the make up in there isn't that good. However, this weekend they were great! I managed to get myself a Mac foundation in colour NW20, a prep and prime highlighter in colour Light Boost and a Mac lip liner in the sought after Etcetera.

I was going to do this as one huge post, but there is just no way I can include it all without you guys getting bored. Stay tuned, as over the next few days I will be posting what else I got including pieces from All Saints and Levis!

Have you ever been to Cheshire Oaks?

Liquid lipsticks are probably the most revolutionary creation in the make up world right now. They're so easy to apply, they can last all day long, and most of them dry matte which is always a sought after look in the beauty world.

With that being said, many companies are following the trend and releasing their own liquid lipsticks meaning they are much easier to get your hands on. Whether it be your favourite high end brand, or a drugstore product. You'll find one!

I've tried a few, and quite honestly not one is alike, with them all creating different looks and shades. Whether it's an every day colour you are after, or a vibrant one for your Christmas do!

However, as I appreciate they aren't the cheapest of things to buy, I wanted to narrow down my top 5 favourite liquid lipsticks just to give you a guideline of what you get for your money and whether or not it is worth the splurge.

  1. Kylie Jenner Liquid Lipstick Single in Dolce K £14 Approx
  2. Kat Von D 'Everlasting' Lipstick in Lovesick £16
  3. NYX Matte Lip Cream in Rome £5.50
  4. Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Chocolate Milkshake £19
  5. Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Dolce £16 Approx

Kylie Jenner's liquid lipstick is my ultimate fav! Even though it cost me a fortune to get in imported to the UK, it was worth the money. It lasts all day long without applying it again, it dries to a beautiful matte colour as well as being incredibly hydrating which is a rare find and the colours are to dieeeeee for. Love love love.

My second favourite is Kat Von D's. Not only are the products from her make up range amazing, but the packaging is just so beautiful too. This lipstick, along with Kylie's, doesn't give you dry and chapped lips, however it does give a slightly more glossy look as opposed to a full on matte. It does last most of they day, but you may need to apply again after eating. But the bright colours are perfect for your evening look.

NYX might not be the most prestigious of the brands listed, but as they are the most affordable I had to give them a spot in my top 5. The range comes in a variety of colours that are easily applied, I own quite a few of these myself as they are so reasonably priced. The colour does dry matte eventually, however you do need at least two coats for the full effect.

As Too Faced Melted Lipstick is the most expensive in the bunch, that is the reason it isn't higher up my list. It probably would make sense to spend less money on a product that is of equal calibre. The great thing about this lipstick is they smell divine, which is always a bonus. If I was to fault it, the packaging isn't my favourite as instead a using a brush, it's a squeezy tube. Although they may have changed this now.

Finally, I give you Anastasia Beverly Hills. The colours they have produced are sensational. Almost every single one is perfect. They are easily applied, and they matte very well. The only issue I have with it however, is that you will need a layer of vaseline underneath as they give you major dry lips and especially in the Winter months it's not what we want. Not at all.

What is your favourite liquid lipstick? I am always looking for new ones to try!

Looking after your skin is so important. Not only does it keep you looking healthy and refreshed, but you can prevent spots and blemishes, you can create a better base for your make up meaning you use less and the best reason of all, it keeps those wrinkles from occurring too soon!

However, it's all good and well telling you all to have this skin care regime in place and buy all these fancy shmancy products, when you don't know actually how half of it works and what it is doing to your skin.

There are 3 main steps to maintaining a good skin care routine and these are, as the title says, Cleansing, Toning and Moisturising.

Cleansing

What is it?

This is a broad term used to describe the action of removing any makeup, dirt, oil etc from your face. The products this includes are face wash and cleansing lotion

A face wash is more known for being a 'foaming cleanser' and because of this quality it is used to get deeper into your skin and cleaning out your pores.

A cleansing lotion is used to remove any excess make up and oil, it gives a much deeper cleanse that a face wash so it is advised that you should use both. As it is an oil-based solution, it is argued that using oil to remove oil is actually the most effective method.

It is important to not just get any cleanser, but get one that is suitable for your particular skin type. Do shop around!

How do we use it?

Firstly use your cleanser with a cotton pad to remove as much make up and dirt as you can. You do not need to wash this off.

Then use your face wash to get deeper into your pores to remove the excess and rinse that off with warm water.

Toning

What is it?

To complete the cleansing process, we will finish with a toner to remove any makeup or dirt that has managed to cling on to your face even after the face wash and cleansing lotion.

Unlike the cleanser, a toner is a water based product. It is used to tighten the skin, balance your pH levels and reduce oiliness and the size of your pores.

Once again, ensure that you buy a toner that is designed to meet your needs especially if you have sensitive or dry skin.

How do we use it?

Using a toner is very similar to a cleanser. We follow the same process by using a cotton bud to apply a generous amount of the product to your face.

Moisturising

What is it?

I know we all know what moisturiser is, but do we know how important it is? It probably is the most significant and effective part of this process.

Throughout your life you will try countless moisturisers in search for that perfect one. Some of you might have been lucky enough to have already found it, some might never find it at all. But keep looking! Generally speaking, the main properties you need to look out for in your moisturiser are: good SPF, the ability to keep the skin hydrated and improve and prevent dry skin from appearing.

It is also beneficial to use a moisturiser with an anti-ageing formula, to prevent those wrinkles from appearing prematurely.

How do we use it?

You must not skip this step, I repeat, DO NOT SKIP. Twice a day, every day you should be applying your moisturiser to clean, dry skin.

Apply a small amount onto your fingers, warm it up by rubbing it in between your hands and use it on your face. Ensure you

In the evening apply a generous amount before bed so that you can leave it to soak in over night. It's totally okay to look like a grease-ball in the comfort of your own your home BTW.

I'm not saying these are the only steps to follow, as there are so many other skin care products that we all need and use. However, these are my 3 main do or die steps. They are the most important to me and I believe that if you were to follow this regime religiously you will find yourself with a much healthier, natural glow in no time!
